Biography

George Davis has been an athletics academic advisor since the inception of the IUPUI Athletics Advising Office in August 2007.  Davis works with men’s cross country, men’s golf, women’s golf, softball, men’s soccer, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and men’s track & field.  

Davis has been affiliated with IUPUI since starting his undergraduate program in 2000.  As part of his Sport Management degree program, Davis completed an internship in athletics compliance. 

After graduating with a BS in Sport Management from IUPUI, Davis served as an intern in the athletics academic support program in University College.  In August 2007, he was named a full-time Athletics Academic Advisor and helped to establish the newly created Athletics Advising Office which reports to the Chancellor’s Office.

Davis coordinates the student-athlete tutoring program and has partnered with numerous on-campus academic resource centers to provide additional guided support for student-athletes.  Davis also instituted the Jaguars Reading Club, a program in which IUPUI student-athletes go to a local elementary school to read books to the students and talk about attending college.
